While this album is funky, it signals the transition from Grover the club cat to Grover the smooth jazz radio institution. Thankfully, eccentricity was still prized in 1979, so you get a trippy electric violin flowing throughout. Besides playing every variety of sax, Washington lays down some flute on the percussion-laden "Icey."
