The irony with this, Midnight Oil's third LP, is that it was their first effort recorded outside Australia (in England), yet its themes revolve around Australian history. "Don't Wanna Be the One" is a brash opener, featuring a nascent version of Peter Garrett's guttural yowl, and the single "Armistice Day" helped the band earn platinum at home. Even though they'd yet to crack international audiences, the band's growth as songwriters during this period is evident on just about every track.
